Poseidon mengirim seekor banteng pada Minos, raja Kreta. Minos membuat marah Poseidon sehingga Poseidon menajdikan banteng tersebut bersetubuh dengan istri Minos, Pasifae, dan menjadi ayah dari Minotaur. Herakles menangkap banteng itu dan dan meleapskannya kembali di daerah Tirins.
